Yesterday marked the start of National School Bus Safety Week, an important annual initiative that occurs during the third full week of October. The week is aimed to raise awareness about the importance of school bus safety for local communities nationwide. Take the time to thank school bus drivers for their tireless efforts to transport students safely to and from school each day!

🎉📚 LMS Sixth Grade Parent Night Success! 📚🎉
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for Sixth Grade Parent Night! Our students showed off their skills by solving puzzles across all four subjects, making learning fun and engaging. We loved seeing families come together to support our Eagles! 🦅

When faced with the task of ensuring purposeful reading was occurring in her 7th grade Social Studies classroom, Kenzie Daniels took the challenge to heart! She has reached out to the LMS literacy coach multiple times with questions or ideas on how to incorporate various reading and writing strategies into her lessons most effectively. Students in her classes have recently benefited from using a close reading strategy to read a challenging article on taxes and by using sticky notes to question a section of the textbook. She has already scheduled two more lessons in November with ideas that have sparked her curiosity. We are so proud of you at LMS, Kenzie!

Today is also the last regular season cross country meet, it is at Fordland. District cross country will be held at Plato on Sat Nov 2. Good luck to all runners.
Last regular season volleyball game tonight at Licking 5 pm game time with a C set. Districts start for the Eagles on Thursday as they await the winner of Thayer and Gainesville.

Congratulations to the Liberty Eagle JV team as they take 2nd place in the Liberty JV tournament.
Good luck today at Fremont Hills, Kam Wood. Tonight JV football at Salem 6 pm.

Our talented art students combined creativity and engineering as they designed and flew their own kites! From vibrant colors to unique shapes, their kites soared high, showing that the sky’s the limit when imagination takes wing. Great job, Eagles! 🦅

🐾 Bring Your Pets to Drop-Off Day was a hit at Liberty Middle School! Although we didn’t have many pets come through, the ones we saw were adorable—and we even had a calf! 🐮

Meet the new student representatives for the Board of Education. In addition to attending board meetings, they will serve on the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council . Their first student advisory council meeting will be held on October 22. On October 24, they will begin representing the voice of students at the monthly Board of Education meeting.
Kierstyn Mayer:
My name is Kierstyn Mayer, and I am so excited that I was elected as one of the Student Board Representatives. I am hoping that I can make a difference in our school district by spreading positivity and a goal of mine is to be the voice for the students who are too afraid to speak up. I am involved in a couple clubs at school, Student Council, Beta Club, and I plan on joining FBLA. I am also the sophomore class secretary for this school year. I am involved in cheer, soccer, and I also play rec and indoor soccer outside of school.
Aryanna Tillman:
Since sophomore year, I’ve participated in various clubs at Liberty High, including joining FBLA this year. I'm vice president of Educators Rising and president of FCCLA. I've also played soccer. I want to positively impact MVBT by serving on the school board and addressing what needs improvement or support.
Drayton Wells:
My name is Drayton Wells. I am involved in multiple school activities and clubs. Throughout my high school career I have been involved in FFA, NHS, FCA, the LHS band, the LHS choir, and I am on the basketball team. I also do the announcing for school sports. I will try to make a difference for LHS by providing a voice from the students.

Tomorrow night the Eagles will head to Salem to take on the Tigers. Game time 7 pm. Only 2 more regular season games remain before district play begins.

Volleyball tonight here with Thayer, we will honor our seniors and teacher appreciation. We will also have a special presentation between the JV and V games.

🎉🏈 Homecoming & Spirit Week Fun at Liberty Middle School! 🦅🎉
Last week was full of celebration, excitement, and school spirit as Liberty Middle School joined in the Homecoming festivities! From crazy hair to team colors, our students and staff went all out to show their Eagle pride. 🦅💙
The energy in the hallways was contagious, and it was incredible to see everyone coming together to celebrate. Thanks to all who participated and made the week so memorable. Go Eagles! 🦅🏆

Liberty High School's FCCLA just returned from an amazing state conference at Margaritaville at the Lake of the Ozarks! Morgan Smith, Lexie Orchard, and Allie Marriott had a fantastic time taking career tests, networking, and gaining valuable skills that will help LHS's organization grow stronger than ever!

🌍✨ Last Week in Ms. Daniels’ 7th Grade Social Studies! ✨🌍
Our students had a blast as they were assigned different types of government, each with its own “rules” to follow. Their challenge? To build the tallest, strongest, and most appealing structure! 🏛️
This hands-on activity gave students a glimpse of what life might be like under different forms of government. Afterward, we discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each system—plus, there was even some arm wrestling to decide the leader in a dictatorship! 💪👑
A super fun way to dive into the complexities of government. Great job!

Liberty Eagles win 3-0 tonight in Salem to give coach Shari Tune her 500th career win. Congratulations to her and the girls.
Volleyball tonight in Salem, jv start is 5:30 pm with varsity to follow.

Holly Smith is a literacy queen! Last month, she learned and incorporated a Close Reading strategy in her classroom to help students gain meaning from difficult text (Spanish colonization). This week she used that same strategy while asking students to infer and cite evidence from the passage on the rivalry among European powers in the New World. Mrs. Smith has sought out information from our literacy coach, knowing that she wants to include more Reading methods in her Social Studies classroom. She is passionate about the content and wants students to have the capacity to comprehend informational text, which can be challenging. Way to be a teacher leader, Mrs. Smith!
